There's something that immediately hits you when you hear this band of brothers perform. You get the sense that you've just step into a blues revival where it's ok to dance, shout and sing along if you know the words to their songs. Headed by front man, Chris Pierce, who has a successful solo career in his own right, they are a tight knit group that produces a big sound with sparse instrumentation. The vibe gets deep in the spirit and tradition of real, down home southern blues. Reverend Tall Tree's shows are nothing short of a musically religious experience worth taking in once a week, faithfully if you can. (schedule)
It's not everyday we come across a band that has the musical chops to fuse the infectious grooves of the D.C. go go sound made popular by the group EU, with such classic funk bands as Cameo, Con Funk Shun, the Bar-Kays Parliament/Funkadelic, and the list goes on.
The Wylde Bunch is a diverse group of musicians, whose wide range of influences culminate into a sound that ultimately, is one uniquely their own. Each member plays an integral part of the frenetic party vibe created together on stage. They set the tone for a feel good vibe through the unifying power of their grooves and keeps the party going non-stop. So be prepared to loose some weight, as you'll no doubt, dance your butt off.
